Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.

Romans 10:17, NABRE

The Bible is the Word of God.  Faith comes by what is heard. When we listen to the Word of God, read the Word of God, and contemplate the Word of God, we are learning more about our faith and the One who gives us our faith.

Reading and learning Scripture is an important part of the Christian’s spiritual journey. We must know what we profess to believe in before we can truly profess to believe. What we listen to has an effect on us. As Christians, we must guard what we listen to—as the world has a message and the Word of God has a message as well.

Contemplation Question(s):
            How does faith come from what is heard?

Personal Reflection:
            How often do you listen (or read) the Word of God?
