Last week, Hope and Purpose Ministries traveled to Detroit to begin the Revive Detroit urban evangelization initiative. The first event of the initiative, “Amazing Grace Overcoming Race” was held on Thursday, August 20 at Corpus Christi Parish and on Friday, August 21 at St. Scholastica Parish. Amid praise and worship music, Deacon Larry Oney shared his personal testimony about the power of God’s grace in his own life.

Hope and Purpose Ministries will be returning to Detroit in three weeks for the kickoff of the second phase of evangelization, “The Encounter”, on September 14. This eleven-week program will assist those who attend to seek Jesus in their lives, and grow in a deeper relationship with Him.

Some videos of praise and worship time can be seen on our Facebook page here. For those interested, DVDs of the event will be available soon. We thank you for your continued prayers for the ministry, and the Revive Detroit initiative in particular. Last week was a good beginning, and we are looking forward to continuing the ministry to the people of Detroit.
